Established in 2008, Poetry Slam Africa has been the forerunner in providing a platform and recognizing performance poets for their ability to put out conscious works that are stage worthy and that speak about issues affecting young people in Africa.

Cheche Sessions Present Kendi Nkonge-Mohol
Kenyan singer-songwriter Kendi Nkonge – Mohol, has graced numerous projects and initiatives in and around Nairobi as well as Internationally. She has been an avid member of the Kenyan music industry since professionally undertaking music in 2014. Her voice is hailed as “soulful” and “passionate”. Through her music, Kendi’s aim is to be an ambassador in “Championing social change and encouraging people to use their passion, in different forms, to better society.”

Cheche Sessions Present Ochiko
This Cheche Edition features Ochiko, born Andrew Otieno, a Nairobi-based singer, songwriter, composer, guitarist, and graphics designer who began his craftsmanship 7 years ago as a poet and over time has evolved to be a performing artist.
Ochiko describes his sound as a fusion of benga and pop with very indie melodies heard in his writing. His compositions have addictive guitar voicings that give life to every listener that crosses paths with his music.
